Shirodhara, an ancient Ayurvedic therapy, delicately pours a continuous stream of warm oil or herbal oil onto the forehead, orchestrating a symphony of deep relaxation and tranquility.
Shirodhara comes from the two Sanskrit words “shiro” (head) and “dhara” (flow). This therapeutic experience not only alleviates physical pain, particularly associated with headaches, but also serenades the mind, reducing stress and anxiety levels.
Abhyanga treatments are a luxurious and effective way to promote relaxation, rejuvenation, and overall well-being. With its roots in ancient healing practices, this massage therapy continues to be a popular choice in spas around the world.
Abhyanga comes from the two Sanskrit words “abhi” (glow) and “anga” (limb). More specifically meaning “massaging the body’s limbs” or “glowing body.” Abhyanga is used to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Regular abhyanga treatments are believed to promote longevity and slow down the aging process.
Abhyanga is more focused in lymphatic drainage. Traditionally, you would have 2 female therapists (1 on each side), starting with the face-up, then moving to the back. The massage movements are also different, using strokes to promote drainage and circulation, moving from the upper body to chest and then to lower body towards the belly (including breast, belly, and underarm massage).
